2010 Diocese Events

The Blessing of Oils and Annual Diocesan Clergy
Conference will be held at Holy Family Parish,
McKeesport, PA on Tuesday, March 30th at 7 pm. The
Clergy Conference will begin at 1 pm in the Parish Hall.

The Diocesan Council Annual Meeting will be held at
Mercyhurst College, Erie, PA on Saturday, April 17th at
10 am.

The Annual Diocesan Youth Retreat will be held at Camp
Wesley Woods in Grand Valley, PA from July 4 to 8.

The National Youth Convocation will be held at
Monmouth University in West Long Branch, from July
26 to 30.

The General Synod will be held in Niagara Falls, Ontario,
Canada, October 4 to 8.

Pre-Synod Delegates Meeting - Holy Trinity Parish,
New Castle, PA, September 11th. The meeting will
begin at 10 AM. A luncheon will be provided at about
12 noon. Delegates are asked to bring all materials
pertaining to the Synod to this meeting.

Solemnity of Brotherly Love - National Church
Observance in all Parishes, Sunday, September 12th.
Special Offering is taken for the Manor at Waymart.

Diocesan Clergy Conference will be held at Holy
Trinity Parish, New Castle, PA, Monday, September
13th at 10 AM. The meeting will conclude in the
afternoon.

Harvest Festival (Dozynki) will be held at Holy
Mother of the Rosary Cathedral, Sunday, September
19th. Mass at 10 AM, Festival until 7 PM.

Spojnia Sunday - National Church Observance in all
Parishes, Sunday, September 26th.

23rd General Synod of the PNCC - Niagara Falls,
Ontario, Canada, October 4th - 8th. Delegates must
have valid passports.

Solemnity of the Holy Family - National Church
Observance in all parishes, Sunday, October 10th.
Special Family Celebrations to be observed in all
parishes.

Confirmation at St. Barbara Parish, Houtzdale, PA,
Sunday, October 17th at 9 AM.

Annual SAMBS Religious Forum at Holy Trinity
Parish, Washington, PA, Sunday, October 17th at 3
PM.

Confirmation at All Saints Parish, Carnegie, PA,
Sunday, October 24th at 9 AM.

FROM THE OFFICE OF THE BISHOP

Bishop Anthony Mikowsky was elected the Seventh
Prime Bishop of the Polish National Catholic Church
during the 23rd General Synod held in Niagara Falls,
Ontario, Canada, October 4 to 8, 2010. He will be enthroned
in St. Stanislaus Cathedral, Scranton, PA on Sunday,
November 21, at 3 pm. A reception will follow in the Parish
Center.

The Right Rev. John Mack, Auxiliary Bishop of the
Buffalo/Pittsburgh Diocese has been appointed as the
Bishop Ordinary of the Central Diocese. This assignment
will take effect February 1, 2011.

General Church Obligations have been increased
annually by $5.00 due to the action of the General Synod.
It will now be $55.00 per unit, per year beginning January
1, 2011. Diocesan Dues will remain at $25.00 per unit per
year.

Father Gregory Mikula has been incardinated in the
Buffalo/Pittsburgh Diocese. He will be serving the new
Holy Family Parish in North Java, NY.

Father José Amaro Rojas was incardinated in the
Buffalo/Pittsburgh Diocese on October 6, 2010.
Confirmation will be administered on Saturday,
November 13, 2010 at Holy Cross Parish, Warren, Ohio.
A Thanksgiving Dinner will follow.

Bishop Peplowski will be visiting Mission Parishes in
Italy during the week of January 16, 2011.
